Working with Coach Jess has been a journey filled with new highs and exciting challenges. I’ve learned the difference between knowing what I have to do and truly believing that I can do it. I now understand that it is a process of gaining fitness, strength, and confidence. Jess has been instrumental in me reaching my goal to complete an Ironman 70.3. Thank you for your kindness and for going above and beyond the call of duty. You inspire not only me but so many.”

I had been racing triathlon, self-coached, for over 20 years when I first met Jess and I was immediately impressed by her positive attitude and enthusiasm for the sport. When I decided to do my first full IM distance event I asked Jess to coach me, though uncertain how it would change my training/race plan. It turned out to be the best decision I could have made. I felt totally supported, like she was part of the "team". She guided me through the process, months long, constantly providing feedback. She brought a higher level of knowledge to the process, and did so with a personal touch. At the end of the day I had a very successful race - because the training and race plan she and I developed worked! I have no doubt that I couldn't have performed at that level without her support.

For these reasons, I would highly recommend Jess for your coaching needs - whether it's completing a first race or taking on a milestone event.”

When I signed up with Jess, I told her that my intention was to maybe do a 70.3 without dying in a couple of years. She said, “or even later this year!” I laughed out loud and thought NO WAY! However, as training progressed, I realized that it might actually be possible. I had no idea what I was capable of, but Jess did, and had me confidently crossing the finish line 9 months later at my first 70.3 in just over 5h30mins. I knew I could finish, but crossing it feeling fit and strong was all thanks to Jess. She got my nutrition in check and guided me in all aspects of my training and racing, building speed and distance effectively. It is easy to justify investing in a new gadget or bike, but investing in coaching with Jess made all the difference for me!

I had been doing shorter triathlons for about 12 years, training pretty casually when I found Jess.  She has been my coach since the spring of 2018 when I realized that I had just 5 months left to train for my first Ironman, and no idea how to go about it.  What a journey it has been, and I have Jess to thank for it!  She knows when to push you, when you need a rest (whether you realize it or not) and how to build your training to make you a better athlete than you could ever be on your own.

I was 63 when I crossed the finish line at IM Chattanooga that fall, with a 2nd place AG finish and a huge feeling of accomplishment.  Always a keener, I travelled to China 7 weeks later, and with a 1st place AG finish, punched my ticket to the Ironman World Championships in Kona, while knocking 11 minutes off my 70.3 time.  In 2019 I crossed the finish line at Kona with a huge smile on my face, and I still get goosebumps when I think about it.

Jess has been there for me through good times, injuries, a bike crash and some hard times dealing with family issues, but she is always supportive and finds a way to get you back on track when things don’t go according to plan.  I love opening up my training plan each week to see what I get to do, always thankful for good health and the ability to continue doing what I love, and I wouldn’t be able to do it all without her.  Thanks Jess!!!”
